InfoComm Today

As the year starts to unfold for all of us, some pretty amazing things have started to happen in the AVNation studios. Right before CES we produced a show for CE Pro about 4K. It had incredibly smart people on it talking about the future of display resolutions, OLED, and even 3D. You should give it a listen. After that, there was another show for CE Pro on ISE. To cap it all off is InfoComm Today’s first episode, also on Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) with a more commercial angle than CE Pro’s residential focus.
InfoComm Today is a show produced in partnership with InfoComm International and AVNation TV, LLC. We are so excited to be working with the folks from Fairfax. The episodes we have lined are are really something. The show will focus on the harder, more in-depth issues, one show at a time. They will feature experts from InfoComm and other places in the industry.
I’ll be very honest with you. When we started AVNation, it was just fun. It’s a fair amount of work as well, coordinating the varying guests, doing the production, and hosting the show. However, the bottom line is that we have fun doing it. As we developed and matured it became apparent that dedicated facilities, better equipment, and more time was needed. This is the AV industry, after all, and having a podcast that doesn’t SOUND good or LOOK good wouldn’t go over very well. To cover some of these costs we toyed with the idea of trying to sell ads using different marketing and sales methods or do other revenue generating projects. In the end, I like AVWeek ad-free. It may not always be, but for the foreseeable future it will be.
What these two great organizations have allowed us to do is to continue to develop the great product you have come to expect while also creating some great new shows as well. Our strength is the quality of our product, not our sales or marketing prowess. It’s not my goal to get rich off this endeavor, just to keep making great shows, inform and entertain you, and have fun. If we keep doing that, I’ll call it a success.
