For the past three years AVNation has covered the various areas of the AV industry; pro, lighting, control, education, and audio. One area we haven’t spent an inordinate amount of time is residential or home AV. The reason is simply our points of view. Myself, George Tucker, Dawn Meade, and Michael Drainer all live and work in the pro or commercial world of audio-visual. Matt Scott, of Omega Audio Video, has been the lone residential AV professional on our advisory board.
This week we hope that changes. We are happy to announce that AVNation will be covering CEDIA Expo 2014 in Denver from September 11-13. This will be a first step in doing more for the residential side of AV. We will be conducting booth tours, talking with manufacturers, taping AVWeek live from the show, and maybe even hosting a CEDIA Expo version of the AVTweeps Tweetup. There are also plans brewing for a CEDIA Expo version of the #AVSelfie.
So, here’s the question for you. Whether you are a manufacturer exhibiting at the show, attending, or presenting, what should we look for? What are the biggest themes at CEDIA? What parties are the biggest or best? In general, what have we gotten ourselves into? Either comment below or send me an email tim@avnation.tv
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my blog. Have a great week.
