Help Us Invade CEDIA Expo 2014

CEDIA Expo, the yearly gathering of residential AV specialists, is just over a week away. This will be AVNation’s first time covering it. We are very excited. A number of our regular contributors, plus board member Matt Scott, regularly make this show. However, as an organization this will be a first.
So, if you see some folks in AVNation shirts looking lost, feel free to point us in the direction of some great booth, product, or demo. We do have a number of booth appointments, as well as other interviews scheduled. We are also looking forward to getting to know the residential market better. To that end, we are bringing a few of our own special flavors to the party.
1) AVWeek will record live from the CEDIA show floor. We will record on Friday September 12 from 1 – 2 pm MT. So, if you are coming to CEDIA and want to be on, or just stop by and say hi, please do so. AVWeek will record in the CEDIA booth, number 1550. We will have guests from programmers, integrators, and manufacturers, plus some person-on-the-street interviews.
2) CEDIA AVTweeps Tweetup: The success of the Tweetup at InfoComm the last few years makes us want to bring this same networking experience to CEDIA Expo. The Tweetup is sponsored by Crestron and Middle Atlantic Products. It will be on Friday September 12 from 4 – 6 pm in the CEDIA booth, number 1550. Come by for ten minutes or the full two hours. It is a great time to meet others in the industry, enjoy some free food and drink, and win some prizes. We will also have the AVNation CEDIA Expo t-shirts at the Tweetup.
3) The #AVSelfie comes to CEDIA Expo. If you are not familiar with the #AVSelfie, check out Chris Neto’s post. Here’s the elevator pitch: take a picture of yourself at a booth or party during CEDIA Expo, post it on social media with the hashtag #AVSelfie. AVNation will produce a video similar to what we did for InfoComm, only using CEDIA pics. It will debut at the Crestron booth, number 150, on Saturday.
4) The same unique perspective and professionalism we brought you from InfoComm 2014, we will bring you from CEDIA Expo 2014. The videos and interviews will be posted to our site as well as our YouTube page. So, if you liked those, come back during CEDIA and the weeks after CEDIA videos.
That’s all I have for this week. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. If you’re coming to CEDIA, stop by and say hi. Have a great week.
