Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) has become the biggest AV tradeshow in the world. Each year well over 40,000 people descend upon Amsterdam and look at the latest in AV technology. It is a joint venture between InfoComm International and CEDIA, which makes it even more unique. AVNation has never covered it in person before and we’d like to change that. We need your help.
Ever since AVNation was founded in 2011 the expenses have been minimal. The majority of the operating budget comes out of our own pockets. Even so, we have been able to bring you coverage of both InfoComm and CEDIA at a certain broadcast level standard. It’s something we are very proud of. With CEDIA and the InfoComm shows both being in the U.S., travel expenses have been within our means. ISE is a bit different. Sending even a small contingent has a price tag of roughly $3000 per person.
There are a couple of ways to get that money. We could sell locks of Matt Scott’s hair, raffle off Tweets from Bradford Benn, or have Harry Meade design and install an X-10 system for you. We could also sell advertising to cover the costs. To be honest, it is something we looked into. However the amount of advertising we would have to sell to cover the cost of the trip was more than I was willing to have on the network. There’s nothing wrong with ads or advertisers. I’m just not ready for AVNation to be a completely ad-based venture yet. So, that’s where you come in.
Most of you have heard of Kickstarter. If you haven’t here’s the quick version. We ask a bunch of people for a set amount of money. In this case, it’s $10,000. For each giving level we offer you some cool stuff. If we reach, or exceed, our goal you get the stuff, we get the money, and you get coverage of ISE in a way only AVNation can do it. If we don’t meet the goal, no one gets anything. Sounds simple enough. Here is the link if you are interested. This is a new avenue for us. It may work, it may flop. However, you never know until you try. Thank you in advance for your support in this.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. Have a great week, and thank you for your consideration.
