What's Going on with AVB?

In a week there is a conference that some of you may not readily connect to AVB. It’s called the Conference on Time Networking and Applications (TSNA). It’s going on in Santa Clara, California. Josh Srago and I will be in attendance. So, what does this have to do with AVB?
AVnu Alliance is putting on the conference. If you remember back in December we talked about TSN, or Time Sensitive Networking. It is a new initiative AVnu is tackling. Not only is it audio and video over the network it is also guaranteed control protocols. The control part is interesting to those in the industrial manufacturing sector. They see AVB as a way to control their various machines over their network. To do so, they need that guaranteed part.
The conference itself will have representatives from automotive, manufacturing, audio, and video segments. The keynote will be given by Dr. Edward Lee from UC Berkley. His talk, The Internet of Important Things, will cover how industrial manufacturing is getting into IoT through network protocols like TSN.
So, stay tuned to this space as Mr. Srago and I learn more about TSN. We will be bringing you the latest from TSNA just in time for InfoComm 2015 in Orlando. If you are in the Santa Clara area, stop by and say hi. We will be attending the Women in AV event Monday April 27 the day before TSNA.
That’s all for this week. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Have a great week.
