It has been a great 2015 for AVNation. There was a great group of Kickstarter supporters who sent us to cover ISE for you. A number of AVNation team members went to NSCA’s BLC in February. We have had people at InfoComm Connections, NAB, the TSNA conference this week and more. We had Robert Heron of Heron Fidelity, HD Nation, and revision3 on AVWeek, a couple of great AV Crosstalks, and some great new bloggers.

In the midst of these first few months we have also felt the growing pains of an organization. We have discovered some of our RSS feeds have become broken or unhooked from the shows they were in place to support. The website is a bit unruly, and our Kickstarter success has revealed some organizational shortcomings.
The thing that makes AVNation great is also one of the things that makes it a challenge to get things done. That is the fact that we are all AV professionals. In the last week I have had to cancel two trips and was late for an AVWeek recording because of my job. Now, it should come first. George Tucker works for World Stage, a live staging and events company. His busiest time of the year is right now.
To eleviate this bottleneck of things that need to get done we are expanding our teams. Up till this point it has been a small handful of volunteers that makes AVNation happen. That small band is growing and I am very excited about it. We now have a team looking at revamping the website, a marketing team, booth design/implementation group, and editorial team. AVNation is more than just one or two people. It is bigger than any one person’s capability. So, we are expanding our capacity to serve you better.
I say all that to also say, please be patient. If you notice something please let us know. Our hope is to have everything fixed by InfoComm in Orlando. We are human and mistakes will be made. Again, we do what you do every day. So let us know if there is a broken link, RSS feed not updating, or anything else. If you’d like to join the team you can reach out to me; tim@avnation.tv
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. Have a great week.
