In just about two weeks an AVNation crew will hop a plane for the beautiful city of Amsterdam. It is our second trip to Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) and we have a ton of stuff planned. ISE is a joint AV trade show owned by InfoComm International and CEDIA. It is a four day show this year so that will be a new thing for us, and for you. Last year’s attendance topped 60,000 and I have no reason to believe it will not break For those of you who are not making the trek, read on as there are some things for you on a daily basis. For those of you attending read on as there are even more things for you to enjoy.
Tuesday February 9
At 9 am local time (3 am EST) we will be recording our new ResiWeek podcast. It’s a look at the residential market in much the same way AVWeek looks at the commercial. If you are attending the show and want to be on the show send me an email; firstname.lastname@example.org . We will be recording in AV Magazine’s booth. 6 N152. They have been a great partner in our preparations for ISE this year as has Daily DOOH, Commercial Integrator, and SCN.
The first Tweetup of the week will be in AV Magazine’s booth (told you they were a great partner). It will be from 12 noon to 3 pm in booth 6 N152. Look for us, the AV Magazine team, Daily DOOH, and all your favorite Tweeps. No, you don’t have to be on Twitter. It’s just a great networking event.
We will be producing a live daily wrap up every afternoon at 5:45 local time (11:45 EST). Stay tuned to Twitter and our website for the link to watch it live or catch it later in the day. Again, this will be recording in the AV Magazine booth, 6 N152.
Wednesday February 10
We will record EdTech at 9 am in booth 6 N152. This is our monthly look at the education market. If you are a tech manager or serve the education market send me a note if you’d like to be on.
From 4 – 6 pm we have a Tweet and Meet at the HDBaseT booth; 5 U92. Again, you don’t have to be on Twitter to have fun. It’s a great networking event with some fun AV-centric drink choices.
I will be moderating a panel on unified communications on the stage at Hall 9 A140. It will feature Aviv Ron of Kramer, Paul Krizan from Harman, Daniel Rogers from AVI-SPL, Alan Glowacki of Cisco, Dan Jackson from Crestron, Eric Smith from Reardon Advisors, and Patrick Stewart-Blacker of Visual Acuity. It’s a 30 minute discussion talking about the state of the industry, how to create the best user experience, and work spaces for tomorrow. Come on by if you are in the area.
Our daily wrap up show will be coming to you live from booth 6 N152 and will air at 5:45 pm local (11:45 am EST).
Thursday February 11
George Tucker takes the mic at 9 am local in booth 6 N152 to record Live Life. It is his live staging and events show.

You can watch it live or catch it at a later time.
Our last daily wrap up show of the week will air at 5:45 pm local (11:45 EST) from AV Magazine’s booth, 6 N 152. It will be our last chance before saying good-bye to the RAI.
Last year we raised the money to go to ISE with a pretty successful Kickstarter. Thank you so much to all of you who gave from $25 – $1000 plus. It was a great experience and pointed out we could make a go at AVNation being funded in this way. Since then we have rolled out our underwriter program. It is those great companies who have made it possible for us to cover this show yet again. Please take the time to thank them for their support of AVNation; either on social media, a kind note, or checking out their products.
This year’s team is a bit different than last years due to some scheduling conflicts. Mr. George Tucker and I return and added to the mix are Matt Scott of Omega Audio Video, Harry Meade from Net-AV, and Brian McKinney of Lewis and Clark Community College. It will be great to get their take on this show.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Have a great week.
