InfoComm is an Emotional Experience

The Tuesday before the show is electrifying. The anticipation of what’s to come over the next few days is intense. At first, most just see the chaos of the build, but if you look closely you can see that it’s more than road cases, cables and monitors. What gets lost in the chaos is the people that make that technology happen.
I visited a booth this morning where one of the ladies working on the setup stopped to chat with me. I asked, “How is the build going?” She responded with “Good, Great!” Then I pointed out a piece of technology that I use and specify. In an instant she went from booth build mode right into the “Proud Parent” mode.
She went on to tell me the story of how she had worked closely with product development team to add some new features to this particular piece of technology. We chatted for a another ten minutes but the whole time I could not help but think how lucky this manufacture was to have this person at the show.
It’s one thing to hear the “company line,” but to hear the emotional connection is refreshing. I’m hoping to experience more that this week.
