CEDIA 2016 Day 1

Day One is in the books for CEDIA 2016. For AVNation, the first day was spent running booth to booth trying to get you the latest information. The main themes from day one seems to be voice control, Sonos, and HDR.
The CEDIA Awards were announced on the first day of the show. Winners included:
Autonomic for the Autonomic eSeries MMS-1e Music Streamer. Grimani Systems for the CinemaOne Home Theater Audio Ensemble. iPort for their Surface Mount with Buttons. Middle Atlantic Products for the DC Power Distribution. RoseWater Energy Group for the Residential Management Hub. Savant for the Savant Pro Remote. SnapAV for the OvrC Pro. Sonos for their Trueplay. Sony for the VPL-VW5000ES 4K SXRD. Tivo for TiVo BOLD+.
On Thursday evening there was a CEDIA get together with about 2000 AV professionals. It was hosted by CEDIA’s own Vin Bruno and sponsored by Dish.
That’s one real departure from someone who has attended InfoComm longer than going to CEDIA. The great support this channel has from consumer companies. Dish, Tivo, and other companies you would probably not see on the show floor of InfoComm fully embrace the CEDIA attendees. It’s quite remarkable.
Here we go off to the second day. Stay tuned for videos and more.
