Now in its 14th year, the Digital Signage Expo (DSE) always embraces the challenge of finding new ways to keep the show fresh; not only first-time attendees, but also for those that make the trip annually. Both the show floor and conference program will see significant upgrades at the 2017 event taking place March 28-31 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The biggest change in the exhibit hall will be the addition of DSE Central Park, a pavilion filled with several engaging experiences for attendees. MaxMedia will create three different virtual reality experiences, while Intel will also feature VR and an intelligent vending solution. The pavilion will also include the Experience Theater, the on-floor home to the APEX Awards, showing off the top digital signage installations and content from the previous year.
Finally, DSE will host a real-time digital signage content contest, during which teams will compete to create a campaign for a pre-determined set of screens. Assets will not be provided to the companies ahead of time, so the race against the clock will create what should be a fun challenge.
Also on the show floor, the Self-Service Pavilion, an area dedicated to kiosks and intelligent vending solutions, will see a larger footprint as more than 20 companies will show off their newest technologies.
The biggest change to the conference portion will come to the structure of the education on Wednesday morning. Traditionally, DSE has hosted a general keynote for all attendees. However, the 2017 show will feature a separate keynote for each of the eight education tracks with five dedicated to specific end user verticals. This change will allow keynote sessions to dive deeper into specific issues, rather than focusing on the grander view of the whole digital signage industry. To continue the conversations started at the keynotes DSE 2017 will feature more than 125 education opportunities ranging from seminars to industry roundtables.
While the show officially opens on Wednesday, March 29, the previous day will be jam packed with opportunities to learn, including the Digital Out-of-Home Strategy Summit, Digital Signage Experts Group certification courses and Digital Signage Guided Installation Tour along with some new events for this year. For the first time Advanced Learning Institute’s Digital Workplace Summit will be co-located with DSE.
Recognizing that DSE hosts hundreds of first-time attendees, a new Attendee Bootcamp will be presented on Tuesday afternoon. The orientation will allow newbies to meet other first-timers as well as learn tips for navigating the more than 80,000-square-foot exhibit hall and how to select the right vendors to visit based on attendees’ needs.
