Watching InfoComm 2017 Through Social Media

A number of years ago one of our regulars on AVWeek, John Greene, purposely stayed home from the annual InfoComm trade show. He wanted to experience the news, events, and latest offerings through the lens of various trade news outlets and social media. In my personal opinion, it was a wonderful experiment.
With that in mind, I wanted to encourage those of you not attending InfoComm 2017 to pay attention this week. Not only will outlets like AV Network (AV Technology, SCN, et al), AV Magazine, Commercial Integrator, rAVe, Sound and Communications, Convergent AV, and AVNation be reporting on the various announcements. There will be citizen journalists. People like John Greene, Alessia Hendley, Chris Neto, and others will be posting to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Instagram, and the like.
I would encourage you to follow along with the #AVTweeps and #InfoComm17 hashtag and discover some voices you maybe didn’t know were out there. We at AVNation will do our best to keep our signal-to-noise ratio at a manageable level. We understand AVNation is not the only outlet you get your news and information from. There may be times that our excitement gets out of control. We beg your forgiveness and indulgence for this week.

  1. Thanks for writing this! I remember firsthand engaging with John Greene at InfoComm14 – and not realizing he was virtual until I invited him to visit my client’s booth. 😀
