Belden REVConnect Wins Fourth Award for Innovation

Electrical Construction & Maintenance recognizes new products that help electrical professionals do their jobs more efficiently
St. Louis, Missouri – June 13, 2017 – Belden Inc., a global leader in signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications, is thrilled that its REVConnect connectivity system was named a Category Winner by Electrical Construction & Maintenance in the category of Connectors & Terminating Devices.
Established in 2000 to honor excellence in new product development in the electrical industry, these prestigious awards are judged by a panel of engineers, contractors and plant/facility personnel. This is REVConnect’s fourth award, following its Excellence in Product Innovation Award from NSCA and Commercial Integrator in March 2017, Top New Technology (TNT) Award from Commercial Integrator in February 2017 and Platinum Innovators Award from Cabling Installation & Maintenance in September 2016.
Electrical Construction & Maintenance readers are invited to help select the Platinum, Gold and Silver Product of the Year winners from the 39 Category Winners, including Belden. All eligible voters are automatically entered into a drawing for one of three $100 gift checks. “We truly appreciate the industry recognition that REVConnect continues to receive,” says Belden Product Manager, Copper/Fiber Connectivity, Matt Baum. “It is a game-changing RJ45 connectivity system, and the tremendous response has reaffirmed that installers needed a reliable, easy-to-use and innovative connectivity solution for next-generation applications.”
Released in September 2016, REVConnect revolutionizes RJ45 connectivity. Before the launch of REVConnect, RJ45 connections required a lengthy and arduous punch-down or single-wire crimping process. Now, Ethernet cables of all types (Category 5e through Category 6A, shielded and unshielded) can terminate onto a single “core” end that is compatible with eight RJ45 modules, including jacks and plugs. Before REVConnect, an entire bag of tools was needed to support terminations required for each connector type. Now, one REVConnect tool completes the entire process – including cable prep – simplifying termination and reducing installation time.
REVConnect was created to address a critical need: providing integrators with reliable, easy and versatile terminations that support IP convergence over a range of applications, from wired LANs to digital signage, mixing consoles, building automation and LED lighting systems.
Only Belden’s innovative enterprise connectivity solutions take a universal approach to customers’ enterprises, resolving signal transmission needs with IP- and legacy-based solutions that enable a smooth migration to convergence. Belden’s extensive portfolio spans LAN, data centers, building automation and security and access control to keep information running smoothly. Outstanding global service and support capabilities and application-specific warranty programs complete Belden’s unique offering.
