SDVoE Alliance World Tour Heads to Singapore

In-depth AV-over-IP training sessions for system integrators, designers, consultants, and installers on January 16 and 17 to be sponsored by NETGEAR and ZeeVee

MONTREAL — Jan. 3, 2018 — The SDVoE™ Alliance will present day-long AV-over-IP training courses in Singapore on January 16 and 17 at the Hewshott Singapore facility. Organized by Systems Integration Asia and sponsored by NETGEAR and ZeeVee, the interactive sessions will cover the basics of IP networking, followed by hands-on training in small groups exploring an AV-over-IP system. All participants will earn 2.5 CTS credits towards InfoComm certification.

“The SDVoE Alliance World Tour has delivered very well attended education and training sessions in the US, Australia, Latin America and Europe,” said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “We are excited to introduce this intensive version of our AV-over-IP training in Singapore and to demonstrate how integrators and end users can take advantage of the flexibility and scalability of Ethernet to deliver 4K video without compromise – without latency and without image artifacts.”

Course material includes the design, installation, configuration and management aspects of an AV-over-IP system including encoders and decoders as well as the software-based management platform which drives configuration and content management.

Upon completion of the course, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of IP network communication
  • Describe the OSI communication model
  • Understand the TCP/IP suite of protocols
  • Understand how to leverage IP networks for AV solutions
  • Understand the capabilities of AV over IP
  • Understand the IP network infrastructure requirements to deploy a system effectively
  • Select the appropriate switch for deployment
  • Install and configure an AV-over-IP system
  • Interact with a management platform

Register on the Systems Integration Asia website.  Download the agenda.

All AV distribution and processing applications that demand zero-latency, uncompromised video can benefit from SDVoE technology, which provides an end-to-end hardware and software platform for AV extension, switching, processing and control through advanced chipset technology, common control APIs and interoperability. SDVoE network architectures are based on off-the-shelf Ethernet switches thus offering substantial cost savings and greater system flexibility and scalability over traditional approaches such as point-to-point extension and circuit-based AV matrix switching.

About the SDVoE Alliance
SDVoE is an initialism for “Software Defined Video over Ethernet”. The SDVoE Alliance is a nonprofit consortium of technology providers collaborating to standardize the adoption of Ethernet to transport AV signals in professional AV environments, and to create an ecosystem around SDVoE technology allowing software to define AV applications. The alliance participates in tradeshows and conferences, publishes white papers and case studies and promotes SDVoE technology, and solutions based on the technology, to system integrators, designers and consultants. Training and installer certification are also part of the mandate. The SDVoE Alliance founding members are Aquantia, Christie Digital, NETGEAR, Semtech, Sony and ZeeVee. All interested parties are invited to join the alliance and work toward its goals. For more information, visit sdvoe.org and follow us on Twitter @SDVoE.
