For the fourth year, we are heading to Integrated Systems Europe. It is the highest attended audiovisual tradeshow in the world; last year they had over 73,000 attendees. It’s hosted at the RAI in Amsterdam with 15 halls spread across the property. If you are attending ISE 2018 and would like to connect, here is a list of places we will be throughout the week. If you are not, you can still follow along with live broadcasts, interviews, and product announcements on our ISE 2018 special coverage page.
Note: Our coverage of ISE 2018 is made possible thanks to Control4 and our great underwriters.
Monday 5 February –
TIDE – We’ll be attending the AVIXA TIDE conference at the Hotel Okura. At last year’s InfoComm show they had the inaugural event and it was a nice departure from talk about boxes and specs. TIDE aims to get audiovisual professionals thinking about the design, the experience.
ISE 2018 Opening reception – Just like the InfoComm show, there is an opening keynote with a reception following. This year architect and engineer Carlo Ratti will be addressing the ISE crowd.
Tuesday 6 February –
ISE Day 1 – The show kicks off at 10 am CET. We start off our day in Hall 14, 10, 2 and 1.
Polycom Live Broadcast, Hall 11 – We are broadcasting from Polycom’s stand; Hall 11 B140. From 5 – 6 you can come by, enjoy some refreshments, and hang out as we talk with Polycom and EMEA integrators about unified communication and collaboration. If you aren’t attending ISE, you can watch live. Look for the link on social media.
Daily Education in Hall 11 – Our friends over at AV Magazine have the monumental task of providing education and presentations in Hall 11. There are sessions every hour all four days. Check out the full list here.
Wednesday 7 February –
ISE Day 2 – The second day of the show for us mostly in Halls 1 and 2.
AVNation Tweetup, Hall 5 S-100 – This will be our 4th year hosting a Tweetup at ISE. Our underwriter HDBaseT is kind enough to lend us their stand for a couple of hours. If you are attending, come by from 4 – 6 pm on Wednesday 7 February. Register here and let us know you are coming by.
World Masters of Projection Mapping – This is an event put on by ISE, the city of Amsterdam, and the RAI. Visual artists from all over the world have been projection mapping onto the EYE Filmmuseum and water in the Amsterdam harbor. This week the winner will be announced. We’ll be going by to see it before the winner crowned.
Thursday 8 February –
ISE Day 3 – We start out Thursday in Hall 12, trying to win some gold from Barco. Not really, but they really are giving away actual gold. Thursday is a day spent mostly in Halls 12 and 10.
4th Annual UCC and IoT discussion – I’m hosting my fourth UCC and IoT chat from 5 – 6 pm in Hall 11. This year’s discussion will be on Cloud AV, IoT, and networked AV. My guests include Kramer, QSC, Logitech, Crestron, Harman, Cisco, and others.
Friday 9 February –
ISE Day 4 – The last day of the show will have us running on a fair amount of coffee. We start out the day in Hall 7 and wrap around trying to see all we want to get in before the show closes at 4 pm.
AVWeek from ISE – At 3 pm CET we will be in Hall 11 recording our weekly news program, AVWeek. We have a great group of AV professionals talking about doing audiovisual work beyond your home borders, subcontracting in another country, and also what the biggest things to come out of the week.
That’s it at a glance. There will be events every night, products that catch our eye that we just have to tell you about. ISE kicks off manufacturer’s chance to show you, the AV community, what they have been working on for so long. One thing that is interesting is in all the ISE pre-interviews we did a majority of the exhibitors said they were not exhibiting a product unless it is shipping within 90 days at least. That is a huge sea-change from ten years ago when there were some instances of vaporware. If you are attending and see us running to and fro, say hello. If you are not, follow along in our special ISE 2018 section. Have a great week.
