AV infrastructure and device provider seeks to support the AV industry’s evolution towards AV over IP

MONTREAL — April 17, 2018 — The SDVoE™ Alliance today announced that Canare Electric Co., Ltd., a leading manufacturer of cables, connectors, assemblies, converters and related products for the professional audio and video industry, has joined the alliance as an adopting member.
“AV over IP is the way of the future and we are proud to join the SDVoE Alliance as a member of the group proactively working toward standards and interoperability in pro AV,” said Yoshiki Chigusa, general manager at Canare. “We look forward to introducing this latest technology to our customers in our ever-expanding product portfolio.”
“Canare’s membership brings the SDVoE Alliance to 35 members in just over a year,” said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “Their valuable contribution to the infrastructure side of the ecosystem we are building around SDVoE technology will undoubtedly fuel the expansion and standardization of the SDVoE platform in the markets they serve. We also look forward to innovative new AV-over-IP products they have on the horizon.”
All AV distribution and processing applications that demand zero-latency, uncompromised video can benefit from SDVoE technology, which provides an end-to-end hardware and software platform for AV extension, switching, processing and control through advanced chipset technology, common control APIs and interoperability. SDVoE network architectures are based on off-the-shelf Ethernet switches, thus offer substantial cost savings and greater system flexibility and scalability over traditional approaches – such as point-to-point extension and circuit-based AV matrix switching.
