Key Digital’s Audio Matrix with DSP Designed to be the Perfect Fit for Bar and Restaurant Applications

AVIXA and CEDIA both are looking at the new middle area of audiovisual dealers who do commercial and residential projects. There are more manufacturers who are exhibiting at both InfoComm and CEDIA each year. Key Digital is one of those and has released a matrix switch with built-in DSP they hope will help those “light commercial” projects. See press release below.
MOUNT VERNON, NY – June 27, 2018 –Key Digital, the award winning manufacturer of professional A/V and Control systems introduces KD-MAX8x8 eight input to eight output audio matrix switcher with built-in audio DSP featuring analog and digital connections per input and output.
With KD-MAX8x8 the ease of sending a single audio source to multiple independent or grouped audio zones is what makes KD-MAX8x8 such an ideal product for bar and restaurant applications. The user experience is greatly enhanced when they are listening to a single audio source as opposed to a mix of audio sources which can lead to an unenjoyably atmosphere. Using the Key Digital App, Compass Control Pro, or controlling by a third party control system users can switch between a variety of analog or digital audio inputs and adjust volume levels with ease.
“Our engineers have analyzed the core requirements for non-mixed audio systems in bar and restaurant distributed audio. Each output of KD-MAX8x8 handles all pre-amp functionality which enables integrators to connect directly into simple amplifiers. Any of the connected audio sources may be selected on any output and apply variable signal processing levels for volume, bass, mid, treble, balance, and lip sync,” said Jonathon Ferry, National Training Manager for Key Digital.
This matrix switcher enables analog-to-digital or digital-to-analog conversion of signals, or can operate as two independent audio matrixes (one digital and one analog). Analog audio inputs are connected on balanced/unbalanced six pin phoenix terminal blocks, accommodating input signals from audio sources such as set top boxes and music players in addition to professional audio sources. Digital audio sources are input on a PCM coaxial RCA connection that supports surround formats up to Dolby and DTS 5.1.
KD-MAX8x8 joins a suite of Key Digital IP enabled products that are now app ready. The engineers at Key Digital have created an easy way for installers and users to switch inputs and control Key Digital systems as if you were standing in front of the unit- all from your iOS device. The Key Digital app can be downloaded free from the App Store.
