Kramer Builds Wide Functionality into Single Devices Creating Platforms

Kramer’s Clint Hoffman talks with Matt Scott about the new Kramer Platform, but it might not be what you think. Hoffman is defining “platform” as the focus on multi-functional capability within single products. The Via product was created for wireless collaboration, but within that product it can also do control, digital signage, encoding & decoding and more. Multi-function means it’s a complete platform within a single product. It provides a nice upgrade path for integrators.

Kramer is also collaborating with other players, like Sony. Every Sony Bravia commercial panel sold will have Kramer intelligence onboard, and then end users can decide if they want to turn that functionality on. Integrators turn on the capability with Kramer directly, get certified and find out how to leverage the technology resident on these Bravias.

On the audio side, Kramer is working on a multi-function DSP solution along with a robust family of products that Kramer will be bringing out later this year. While Kramer has had some focus on audio, the addition of Yuval Kramer as Director of Audio has propelled this development forward. Hoffman hints that the industry will be excited and surprised by the upcoming audio additions.
