Samsung Brings 8K To The Home At CEDIA Expo 2019

A Full Suite of 8K Displays

For our continuing coverage of CEDIA Expo 2019, Matt Scott talks to National Product Training Manager for Samsung Scott Cohen about (and in front of) their 98-inch QLED 8K video screens. They also discuss the expansion of 8K displays and managing content for both 4K and 8K.

For displaying 4K content in 8K, Samsung has developed artificial intelligence upscaling, using algorhythms to properly upscale for texture, noise and edge detailing. This ensures that not only can the image be improved upon over time, early adopters of 8K are not left in the dust.

Samsung is no stranger to the trade show circuit, bringing their massive QLED display “The Wall” to both Integrated Systems Europe 2019 and InfoComm 2019. Samsung Electronics was established in 1969 as a part of the Samsung Group. By 2004, they had become the larget global manufacturer of OLEDs for use in their displays and smartphones.
