Atlona unveils new Omega series matrix switcher at ISE 2020

The newest Omega Series innovation provides a universal connectivity and switching solution

Atlona is once again simplifying BYOD collaboration in AV environments with the introduction of the AT-OME-MS52W 5×2 matrix switcher. Combining flexible wired and wireless AV input support with USB extension and user convenience features such as automatic input selection and display control, the newest Omega Series innovation provides a universal connectivity and switching solution that is ideal for applications from multi-participant presentations to video conferencing. Atlona will take the wraps off the new switcher in stand 5-T50 at ISE 2020 exhibition in Amsterdam.

The OME-MS52W’s wired connections include HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C inputs alongside mirrored or matrixed HDBaseT and HDMI outputs. The USB-C port provides adapter-free AV input from the latest generation of tablets and laptops, as well as device charging. The USB-C interface also combines with the switcher’s integrated USB 2.0 hub to provide data connectivity for two peripheral devices; simultaneous AVand USB switching for up to three host computers; and USB extension to a compatible Atlona HDBaseT receiver. This provides an ideal USB integration solution for software video conferencing and interactivedisplays.

For wireless interfacing, the OME-MS52W features native screen mirroring for iOS, Android, Mac, Chromebook and Windows devices without the need for a separate app. Integrated moderator functionality available through the OME-MS52W’s web interface enables an authorized user – such as an instructor or meeting administrator – to preview content from up to 16 wirelessly connected devices and allow or block any of the devices from presenting on-screen.

The OME-MS52W supports HDBaseT transport of video up to 4K/60 with 4:2:0 chroma subsampling alongside embedded audio, control, Ethernet and – when paired with a USB-capable Omega Series receiver such as the AT-OME-EX-RX or AT-OME-SR21 – USB data. All wired AV inputs and the local HDMI output support 4K/60 4:4:4 at HDMI data rates up to 18 Gbps.

Automatic input selection intelligently switches between inputs when sources are connected or removed, while automatic display control powers compatible projectors and monitors on or off without manual intervention. Additional integration features include audio de-embedding; contact closure ports for controlling a motorized screen or display lift; and trigger I/O ports to power the system up or down based onoccupancy sensing. The OME-MS52W can be remotely managed through the Atlona Management System (AMS 2.0) software or Atlona’s recently enhanced Velocity IP-enabled AV control platform, while TCP/IP and RS-232 support enable integration with third-party control systems.

“Atlona is known for delivering flexible, reliable solutions that address essential AV application requirementswhile making life easier for both integrators and users,” said David Shamir, Director of Product Management, Atlona. “The OME-MS52W continues this tradition, enabling customers to maximize the benefits of BYOD while simplifying systems design, integration and operation by combining versatile wired and wireless connectivity in a single, compact unit.”

As with all Omega Series products, the OME-MS52W will be backed by Atlona’s award-winning 10-year limited product warranty and customer support services. To learn more about the Omega Series, please visitatlona.com/omega.
