AVNation’s Learn From Home Virtual Summit a resounding success

With the well-attended residential LFH Virtual Summit behind us, AVNation looks to next week’s commercial AV virtual summit to continue encouraging and maintaining industry social and career connections

This past week the AVNation team, led by President Tim Albright, hosted our first Learn from Home Virtual Summit — a two-day event of live presentations, sessions and keynotes — designed to help our industry stay social and connected as we all experience social distancing in the age of COVID-19.  It is our way of giving back to an industry that has given us, as an AV media organization, so much. Next week we will host our second event, a three-day LFH Virtual Summit designed specifically for those working in the commercial AV sector, from Tuesday, April 14 to Thursday, April 16, 2020.

“We were thrilled with the response to our event from the residential custom install industry, so we thank our speakers, partners, and attendees for coming together to make it a great event. Even in a challenging time and acclimating to work from home, education and conversations were uplifting,” said Albright. “We want to bring the same great experience and education to the commercial AV industry, and we’ve put together a great lineup of industry leaders who are bringing keynotes, trainings, and topical education sessions. AVNation looks forward to seeing you there.”

To explore some of the great sessions that were held during this week’s residential LFH Virtual Summit, you can begin with the inaugural keynote by Origin Acoustics’ Founder and Chairman, Jeremy Burkhardt, who detailed the challenges from the last downturn and how we can overcome this crisis. AVNation’s Matt Scott and Joe Whitaker then lead a discussion and take questions from the audience for Burkhardt.

On Day 2, addressing the new normal we find ourselves in,  Z-Wave Alliance’s Executive Director, Mitchell Klein discusses what the industry has learned in the past 25 years about crises, how they can affect our businesses, and how we can adapt and come out stronger for the next 25 years. Leadership coach and author Ricardo Palomares led the Day 2 afternoon keynote, which explored what makes a strong leader in times of change and challenge.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to produce economic difficulties across the U.S.’s entire workforce, Dawn Fregosa offered guidance through the recent CARES Act and what this means for your business. We also followed up with a Q&A and roundtable discussion with AVNation’s Matt Scott, Josh.AI CEO Alex Capecelatro and Lutron Vice President David Weinstein.

We will post recordings of our breakout sessions from the Residential LFH Virtual Summit in the coming week. In the meantime, sign up for our free three-day Commercial AV LFH Virtual Summit, which will feature educational sessions on a variety of topics, from applications of interactive displays, an introduction to distributed video solutions, generating alternate revenue streams, audio networking, the evolved conference room, power best practices, and more, from industry leaders including: AtlasIED, Avnu Alliance Milan Group, Avocor, Biamp, Caster Communications, Control Concepts, Drainer Technologies, Legrand, Shure, SurgeX, Tangram, Vanco, Yamaha, and more.

We look forward to seeing you next week!
