CEDIA Expo 2020 has been cancelled

Expo organizers, citing the ongoing pandemic as one of several reasons, will stage a virtual event instead

CEDIA Expo 2020 has officially been cancelled, according to a statement issued on CEDIA’s website. The show was scheduled for September 8-12 in Denver, CO.

Acknowledging that many in the industry saw the CEDIA Expo 2020 as the event to “re-energize the channel for the the future”, show organizers, Emerald Expositions, attributed the cancellation to developments beyond their control, including the ongoing pandemic, the current use of of the Colorado Convention Center as a medical care facility for non-emergency cases related to COVID-19, and the phased reopening of the U.S. for economic recovery.  In announcing the show’s cancellation, Expo 2020 organizers committed to staging a virtual, interactive event in its place.

“While we are deeply disappointed that we will not be coming together in person this September, we are committed to keeping you connected and are already hard at work developing a virtual experience for our connected tech community,” said Brian Pagel, executive vice president, Emerald Expositions in the statement. “The CEDIA Expo virtual experience will launch in September and offer everything you need to take your residential tech business to the next level. From session panels surrounding hot topics to keynotes, product discovery, networking and an interactive expo hall.”

The next in-person CEDIA Expo will take place September 1-3, 2021 in Indianapolis, IN – home to the CEDIA Association.
