Heading out to Crestron Masters 2021

Why I’m attending the Crestron Masters Keynote 2021

As 2020 finally releases it’s grip on 2021 and the world slowly recovers from this pandemic, one aspect of healing is the return to events and travel. At least for me. Before 2020 I’d travel about 30 percent of the time. My family would argue it was more like 80 percent but, c’mon, really? I’ve had my own bout of COVID and gotten fully vaccinated at this point. When our friends at Crestron asked if I wanted to come in person for their annual gathering of smart programmers and other AV professionals I jumped at the chance. It wasn’t only about getting on a plane finally (though there is certainly some of that) but it was more about what they had planned.

I’ll be live blogging and Tweeting throughout the Masters Keynote on April 27. Crestron has lined up some of their biggest partners within the audiovisual industry and the tech sector as well. I’m really excited to see what they are able to create with these companies. In addition, they’ve lined up Zoom, Samsung, Microsoft and others.

Crestron leaned into the work from home and hybrid workplace last year. The company released a number of products that made WFH more viable and productive. CEO Randy Klein joined AVNation for our Learn From Home summit last year and unveiled the power dealers and technology managers held when using complete solutions like Crestron’s. The keynote will highlight what the New Jersey company has been working on since last year. Their hybrid systems partner with enterprise powerhouses like Microsoft, Zoom, and Samsung.

Crestron is one of the main innovators within the AV industry. At the Masters Keynote we will hear about their roadmap for the next year. The company will reveal new products, and product updates, that will be available shortly after the event. One feature to look for is “Innovation Fuels Us” which is a set of exclusive interviews with customers and case studies.

Finally, I’ll get the chance to sit down and chat with the executive team, including CEO Randy Klein. They will take questions from the audience as well as provide insight and context from the keynote.

This is AVNation’s first real industry event in over a year. I’m not entirely sure I remember how to properly board a plane. Nor do I know where my passport is. What I do know is I’m ready to begin getting back together and bringing our audience, and the industry, the news, information, and education from an in-person perspective. If you can’t join us live next Tuesday, April 27, check back here for the blog and video after the fact. We’ll also be producing two special podcasts.

Tim Albright is the founder of AVNation and is the driving force behind the AVNation network. He carries the InfoComm CTS, a B.S. from Greenville College and is pursuing an M.S. in Mass Communications from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. When not steering the AVNation ship, Tim has spent his career designing systems for churches both large and small, Fortune 500 companies, and education facilities.
