FARMINGDALE, New York – Deepening its commitment to delivering the best service and support for Calrec’s American customer base, Farmingdale, New York-based distributor Group One Limited announces that it welcomes James Tunnicliffe, who now joins the team as Technical Support Engineer. The announcement comes from Group One CEO Jack Kelly.
Based in the Newark, New Jersey area, Tunnicliffe reports directly to both Kelly and Group One Vice President of Broadcast and Production Chris Fichera. In his new role, he will be responsible for providing phone- and IP-based product troubleshooting and repair coordination, onsite service and maintenance calls, system design assistance and trainings, and liaising with Calrec’s headquarters in Hebden Bridge, England.
Prior to joining Group One, Tunnicliffe spent nine years with Harman Pro North America as Studer’s applications specialist, following nearly a decade working as a field service engineer and product specialist for Euphonix. These two manufacturer roles were preceded by seven years spent as the chief technician and service manager for Design FX Audio in Burbank, plus three years as a studio technician and engineer for Westlake Audio in Hollywood. Tunnicliffe also possesses a Recording Engineering degree, graduating with honors in 1992, from Orlando’s Full Sail University.
“James has spent nearly three decades in this industry, the last 18 years of which have been specifically dedicated to digital audio consoles,” says Kelly. “He has a long history of integrating, commissioning, and servicing digital desks, plus a deep, practical knowledge base to draw from when helping customers with trainings and problem-solving. Calrec’s US customers will be in good hands with James now onboard.”
“I’m really impressed with Calrec’s forward-thinking leadership in the market and clear commitment to R&D,” Tunnicliffe shares. “And from talking with Jack and Chris at Group One, who have distributed the brand for the past five years, it’s clear that they share the same passion for audio that I do. I thoroughly enjoy teaching audio mixing professionals how to get the most out of their tools, and I look forward to earning their trust as someone who can help them smoothly navigate through their questions and challenges. I’m excited to share what I know and be of service.”
