Through the course of growth and success, Salem North Carolina-based advertising firm, The Variable, had outgrown its previous office location and the staff found themselves in need of more space as well as new AV technology. They wanted AV that was far better, more reliable, and easier to use than in their previous location. The Variable teamed up with Durham-based AV Integrator, KONTEK Systems, and began planning their move into the new space. When it came to specifying the AV equipment for the project, the project managers at KONTEK agreed that Extron was the obvious choice.
“We chose Extron because I wanted it to work,” says Warren Martin, UX Design Engineer at KONTEK. “Extron is one of the very few companies where I have no problem spec’ing a brand new product. They do their due diligence. Their boxes are quiet and small – and do their job.”
The Results Speak for Themselves
According to The Variable, the results exceeded expectations. With all the unique spaces within the newly-renovated building, Extron products, such as NAV systems, room scheduling, and control systems, including TouchLink touchpanels really shine. There is a large, two-floor, tiered seating area that acts as a venue for presentations, social gatherings, and other activities. The Variable calls it the “Stadium,” and multiple Extron NAV AV over IP encoders and decoders handle the video streaming tasks within this special space. The Variable takes pride in its many novel rooms and strong architectural statements throughout its new office, and Extron products, whether working behind the scenes or in plain sight, are a handsome and functional addition to these spaces.
