SDVoE Alliance Recognizes Aurora Multimedia and Lightware Visual Engineering with Members’ Choice Awards

SDVoE Alliance is a nonprofit consortium promoting Software Defined Video over Ethernet, standardizing Ethernet adoption for professional AV environments and creating an ecosystem for software application definition.

The SDVoE Alliance, a nonprofit consortium, awarded Aurora Multimedia and Lightware Visual Engineering for their innovative technologies and outstanding project installations at the 2023 Members’ Meeting.

Aurora Multimedia’s IPX-UC1 ULTRA, the first 4K transceiver with simultaneous encoding and decoding over a single cable, won the Product Innovation Award. Lightware Visual Engineering won the Project Excellence Award for a financial software company installation using SDVoE technology.

The SDVoE Alliance, a nonprofit consortium of technology providers collaborating to standardize the adoption of Ethernet to transport AV signals in professional AV environments, recognized members with innovative technologies and outstanding project installations through the Members’ Choice Awards at the 2023 Members’ Meeting. This year, the SDVoE Alliance recognized Aurora Multimedia with the Product Innovation Award and Lightware Visual Engineering with the Project Excellence Award.

Aurora Multimedia’s IPX-UC1 ULTRA, the industry’s first 4K transceiver capable of simultaneous encoding and decoding over a single cable with zero compression, was honored with the Product Innovation Award. Utilizing SDVoE technology, the IPX-UC1 ULTRA boasts 10 gigabit, 1 gigabit, and 10/100 streaming simultaneously in both directions. The IPX-UC1 ULTRA features advanced compression CODECs for SDVoE, H.264, H.265, and NDI, which are part of the highly integrated Ultra platform. Ideal for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) applications, the IPX-UC1 ULTRA includes an internal Pentium class processor with 1TB SSD, allowing for Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco WebEx, and more.

Lightware Visual Engineering was recognized with the Project Excellence Award for a recent installation completed by AVI-SPL for a financial software company. AVI-SPL integrated Lightware’s MX2 Series and TPX Extenders, both powered by SDVoE technology, to provide a full HDMI 2.0 signal chain. Lightware’s MX Modular Matrix Series supports the high-resolution 4K UHD, 2560×1600 and 1920×1080 at 120Hz resolutions, standard HDMI 3D formats and all HDMI 1.3 resolutions, operating without signal latency. Additionally, the TPX Series creates a reliable, high-performance solution for extending 4K60 4:4:4 video resolution across distances up to 100 meters. The TPX Series enables HDMI 2.0 signal management over a single CATx cable with HDCP 2.3 and Dolby Vision support.

“Our members voted, and we are pleased to honor Aurora Multimedia and Lightware Visual Engineering with the Product Innovation and Project Excellence Awards, respectively,” said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “We value their membership, collaboration and continued investment in standardizing the adoption of Ethernet to transport AV signals in professional AV environments.”

Kennington added, “We enjoyed reconnecting with our partners and members as we brainstormed, networked and collaborated as part of our continuous development of an interoperable and sustainable ecosystem while harnessing software to define AV applications. Each of our members brings a unique perspective with their expertise in chipsets, switches, and AV endpoints.”

The 2023 SDVoE Alliance Members’ Meeting marked the Alliance’s first in-person member gathering since November 2019. The two-day event united ecosystem partners, specifically audiovisual equipment manufacturers, to foster the future of collaboration and empower interoperability for a global customer base. The SDVoE Alliance is led by Steering Members, including BlackBox, Christie Digital, IDK Corporation, NETGEAR, Semtech, and ZeeVee, and supported by Contributing Members and Adopting Members with a long-standing history of reliability and success in the professional AV industry.
