Timothy Copp, the Leading Packaging Expert in the Wire and Cable Industry, Joins ICE Cable Systems as Chief Operating Officer

ICE Cable Systems, founded in 2004, is the manufacturer of premium low-voltage wire and cable products for various channels, offering superior value to integrators in North America and internationally.

ICE Cable Systems announced the appointment of industry expert Timothy Copp as Chief Operating Officer. Copp brings over 20 years of experience, including numerous patents and a background in reel-less cable packaging technology.

Timothy Copp joined ICE Cable Systems as COO due to his extensive expertise in reel-less cable packaging technology, his successful past collaboration with ICE’s President Brian Rizzo, and his alignment with the company’s values and commitment to innovation and quality. This move enables ICE to leverage Copp’s experience to enhance operational efficiency, protect against supply chain disruptions, and continue pioneering advancements in cable technology.

ICE Cable Systems, a leading brand of premium low-voltage wire and cable products announced today that industry expert Timothy Copp has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer, making the move from Connecticut to Austin, Texas where the company is located. With numerous patents to his name, Copp brings over 20 years of experience as the industry’s leading expert in reel-less cable packaging technology. He spent 21 years with REELEX Packing Solutions, Inc., progressing from Brand Manager to Business Development VP. There he was immersed in a variety of business functions including marketing, operations and product development. ICE Cable Systems is an early adopter of REELEX, having incorporated the specialized figure-eight coil into their bulk cable cartons to ensure installers get the best pulling experience. With this, ICE President Brian Rizzo and Copp have an already established, successful working history together that spans more than a decade. They have also been vocal in educating installers on what goes into state-of-the-art, reference-level wire & cable, and how to identify and avoid sub-standard and counterfeit offerings.

“In recent years, we have shifted from buying finished goods overseas to sourcing core/raw cable domestically and managing end-production in-house including coil winding, printing, and packaging. This allows us to protect our dealers from unforeseen global supply shortages such as those experienced during COVID-19. This greater manufacturing control allows us to apply new innovations to further benefit installers and improve the installation experience,” said Rizzo.

“Tim brings tremendous channel and operational expertise to ICE Cable Systems. Worldwide he is the foremost expert in reel-less packaging technology and possesses deep experience in running all aspects of an organization within our industry. This is the perfect synergy,” furthered Rizzo. “Collaborating with Brian as a partner for more than a decade, I have experienced first-hand ICE Cable Systems’ continued commitment to excellence and innovation. This is especially impressive during an era of rampant cost-cutting on materials and manufacturing. I am thrilled to take on the role of COO and contribute towards an organization that shares my values of customer-centric creativity, producing the best products and doing things the right way. My new role will also free-up Brian to resume strategic direction as President. I am confident that collectively we will take ICE Cable Systems to new heights,” said Copp. Copp holds a bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurial and Small Business Operations from Babson College and an MBA from Western Connecticut State University. He recently served as chairman of CCCA’s (Communications Cable and Connectivity Association) Compliance Committee and board member of WICSA (Wire Industry and Cable Suppliers Association).
