Panasonic Technology Powers the White House Historical Association’s New Innovative Educational Experience

Panasonic Corporation of North America is Panasonic’s principal subsidiary in the United States. It has been headquartered in Newark, New Jersey since 2013, after being previously headquartered in Secaucus, since the 1980s; both Newark and Secaucus are located within New Jersey’s Gateway Region.

Panasonic Corporation of North America is collaborating with The White House Historical Association to create “The People’s House: A White House Experience,” an immersive educational space showcasing the history of the White House through advanced projection and display technology.

This collaboration highlights Panasonic’s commitment to using technology for educational and cultural preservation. The project aims to enhance public understanding of the White House’s history by creating a deeply engaging and immersive experience that connects visitors personally with the Executive Mansion’s legacy.

Panasonic Corporation of North America today announced a collaboration with The White House Historical Association to bring its new educational space “The People’s House: A White House Experience” to life.

Featuring the latest in projection and display technology from Panasonic in expansive exhibits and galleries, the innovative experience will immerse guests into the dynamic history of the Executive Mansion, its inhabitants, and the people who have dedicated their careers to its functions. The Association is a private, nonprofit, educational organization founded by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in 1961 to help the White House collect and exhibit the very best artifacts of American history and culture.  The 33,000-square-foot facility housing the new experience is slated to open this fall and is located at 1700 Pennsylvania Avenue, a block away from the White House.

“Developing innovative solutions that have a positive impact on the world and enhance quality of life has been Panasonic’s commitment from the very beginning,” said Megan Myungwon Lee, Chairwoman and CEO of Panasonic Corporation of North America. “Our collaboration with the Association to preserve history and educate future generations is a continuation of that commitment that will enable historical exploration of the White House in a whole new way.”

The Association is committed to preserving the collections and stories of the White House, and the new experience will showcase experiential media to help each visitor walk away with a tangible image and personal connection to the history of the People’s House. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a large-scale White House model, the State Floor in 360° immersive projection a full-scale replica of the Oval Office, and recreations of key White House moments.

Panasonic will work alongside Design and Production, Inc. (D&P), the integrator for the project, to help outfit the space with projectors and displays to ensure that the history remains the focal point to fully engage visitors.
