Nice Announces NiceOS 8.9 Software Upgrade, Voice Assistant, and New Hardware for its Home Management Platform

Nice North America, a subsidiary of Nice, is a manufacturer of smart residential, commercial, and industrial solutions. Nice has announced a major upgrade, NiceOS 8.9, along with a new Nice voice assistant and several new hardware products for their Home Management platform. This includes new system controllers, intelligent touch panels, and a video doorbell. These innovations will be showcased at CEDIA Expo 2024.

The upgrade introduces the Nice voice assistant for seamless and natural language control, enhanced security features like facial recognition and Bluetooth authentication, and extended integration with popular smart devices. This upgrade, along with new hardware releases, aims to simplify everyday home management, improve system reliability, and offer a more intelligent and connected living environment for Nice customers.

The innovative technology and new features will be showcased at CEDIA Expo, alongside several other new products from Nice.

NiceOS 8.9 

With this latest software upgrade, Nice revolutionizes home automation through a more personalized approach with a better, faster, and stronger system. With NiceOS 8.9 comes the all-new Nice voice assistant, which allows users to control their entire home effortlessly. Personalized interfaces and settings can follow a user across devices, allowing a home to adapt to its owner in real-time. Increased security with facial recognition, Bluetooth low energy beacon for authentication, and security panel disarm, coupled with timely notifications across devices, provide unprecedented control over a user’s living environment. The update includes extended drivers with AppleTV, Roku, Phillips Hue, Tesla Power Wall (Solar), Fronius Solar Inverter, and ELK E27 IP (security panel) for seamless integration across favoured devices. OS 8.9 isn’t just about improving home management capabilities, it’s about creating a truly intelligent and personalized living experience for Nice customers.

Nice voice assistant 

As part of the latest upgrade, Nice voice assistant brings seamless integration and intuitive control to the home management space. Built on the platform that customers have relied on for more than 20 years, Nice voice assistant offers a sleek new interface: Your Voice. Unlike third-party solutions that may require platform changes, this new capability is deeply woven into the Nice Home Management platform, delivering unmatched speed, reliability, and data security. Users can control their media, cameras, climate, lighting, security, and more with intuitive ease. Nice voice assistant doesn’t just process commands, it understands context, recognizing location and preferred devices to streamline every interaction. Interfaces can be associated with a location or a media zone, allowing users to issue a command without an explicit location or unique device name. Nice voice assistant can be enabled on Nice ITP touch panels and HR40 remotes to unlock a new world of effortless control. With frequent over-the-air updates, Nice voice assistant is constantly evolving, learning new languages, and expanding its capabilities to advance smart home experiences.

Nice Video Doorbell 

The Nice video doorbell features a wide angle, high-definition camera, a customizable RGB lit push button, angled mounting adaptors, and customizable input / outputs for expanded integration. Two models are available, a PoE / Wi-Fi version and a 2-wire model available for retrofit applications. Built for Nice Home Management systems, the doorbell increases quality and speed of support for installs and enables dealers to generate greater profits by combining solutions.

Nice SC350 System Controller support  

New flagship controller replaces the current SC-300 controller with a faster processor and H.265 video codec support to handle 4K decoding and a4K output on HDMI port for high-res NVR playback.

Nice SC150 System Controller support 

New controller replaces the current SC-100 controller with a faster processor and H.265 video codec support which can handle 4K decoding and 4K output on the HDMI port for high-res NVR playback.

Nice 8-inch & 12-inch Intelligent Touch Panel 2 (ITP2) support 

Nice Intelligent Touch Panel 2 is enhanced with a faster processor, offering an even more responsive user. Experience.
