Smarter, Greener, More Connected – QSYS and Acuity Brands at ISE 2025

In an engaging session at ISE 2025, Tim Albright from Avnation sat down with Jason Moss from QSYS and David Danto. The discussion revolved around QSC’s legacy in the audio-video industry and the evolution of its Q-SYS platform.

Jason Moss elaborated on how QSC, a company with over 55 years of expertise, has expanded its technology solutions through Q-SYS, integrating audio, video, and control into a singular platform. Over the last five years, advancements in software and cloud integration have enhanced Q-SYS capabilities, making deployment more seamless across corporate spaces, venues, and hospitality environments.

During the conversation, Moss also addressed QSC’s recent acquisition by Acuity Brands. He highlighted how QSC now falls under Acuity’s Intelligent Spaces division, joining other solutions that enhance built environments. With this integration, QSC aims to bridge AV technology with smart building management, allowing data-driven insights to improve energy efficiency and user experiences.

Discussing the future of AV data, Moss emphasized how QSC and Acuity Brands are leveraging cloud-based solutions such as Q-SYS Reflect and Atrius to refine and optimize data usage across various spaces. By consolidating and analyzing data from AV and building management systems, the company envisions a smarter, more connected future.

Moss also spoke about the growing demand for integrated AV solutions that contribute to energy efficiency. He noted that businesses seek unified platforms that enable automated adjustments, such as optimizing lighting and shading based on occupancy and environmental conditions. The synergy between QSC and Acuity aims to simplify these processes while reducing operational complexities.

For those who were unable to attend ISE 2025, a virtual tour remains available at Q-SYS.

Additionally, he announced that QSC would showcase its innovations at InfoComm in Orlando, Florida, offering another opportunity for industry professionals to engage with their latest advancements. Stay tuned to AVNation for more highlights and interviews from ISE 2025!
