L-Acoustics Named to Fast Company’s Annual List of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2025

L-Acoustics has been recognized as one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2025 by Fast Company, ranking #2 in the events and live experiences industry for its groundbreaking advancements in sound technology. The company was specifically honored for revolutionizing Broadway sound design, particularly through its L-ISA immersive audio system, which was a key factor in the 2024 Tony-winning musical The Outsiders. This marks the third time in six years that L-Acoustics has been recognized for its innovation in delivering high-quality, immersive sound experiences.

Beyond just sound quality, L-Acoustics is also making strides in sustainable design, with its L Series speakers reducing material use and transport emissions. This aligns with modern IT industry values, where eco-conscious design meets high-performance technology. The recognition from Fast Company highlights how L-Acoustics continues to push the boundaries of innovation, shaping the future of live audio experiences while keeping sustainability in focus.

L-Acoustics is proud to announce that it has been named for the third time to Fast Company’s prestigious annual list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2025, reaching #2 on the list of top innovative companies in the events, concerts, and live experiences industry, recognized specifically “for changing the way Broadway shows sound.”

The prestigious 2025 list celebrates companies that consistently drive innovation and shape the future of their industries—a principle that has guided L-Acoustics since its founding, from pioneering line array technology to today’s cutting-edge immersive sound solutions.

“Being recognized by Fast Company as a top innovator for the third time in six years is both an extraordinary honor and a testament to the ongoing commitment to innovation at L-Acoustics,” says Laurent Vaissié, CEO at L-Acoustics. “This recognition reinforces our mission of connecting humans through the best shared sound experiences and our dedication to continually pushing sound forward through engineering and creativity in a sustainable way.”

L-Acoustics continues to build upon its legacy of groundbreaking innovations that began with the invention of the modern line array over thirty years ago with V-DOSC. The company’s relentless pursuit of excellence in sound reinforcement has led to the development of L-ISA immersive technology, which has revolutionized spatial sound experiences, notably in the 2024 Tony-winning musical The Outsiders. For this production, sound designer Cody Spencer utilized L-ISA paired with the newly launched L Series speakers throughout the entire show, creating an immersive audio experience for all scenes, including a particularly challenging rumble sequence with its on-stage rain curtain. The exceptional sound clarity and compact footprint of L Series enabled precise sonic projection, helping Spencer earn the Tony Award for Best Sound Design for the musical.

Beyond its performance capabilities, L Series also represents a significant advancement in eco-design principles. Compared to traditional line arrays, L Series offers significant material savings: using 56% less paint, 30% less wood, and 60% less steel in the manufacturing process. It is 30% less voluminous and 25% lighter than similar systems, simplifying logistics and reducing transport emissions. This dual commitment to sustainability and performance excellence earned particular recognition from Fast Company judges, who noted the company’s leadership in transforming live experiences while addressing environmental concerns.

The World’s Most Innovative Companies stands as Fast Company’s hallmark franchise and one of its most anticipated editorial efforts of the year. To determine honorees, Fast Company’s editors and writers review companies driving progress around the world and across industries, evaluating thousands of submissions through a competitive application process.

“Our list of the Most Innovative Companies offers both a comprehensive look at innovation today and a playbook for the future,” said Fast Company editor-in-chief Brendan Vaughan. “This year, we recognize companies that are harnessing AI in deep and meaningful ways, brands that are turning customers into superfans by overdelivering for them, and challengers that are introducing bold ideas and vital competition to their industries. At a time when the world is rapidly shifting, these companies are charting the way forward.”
