Matt Scott is with SurgeX’s Justin Peyton to take a look at the company’s new Squid power management device, which features a compact, one chassis design ideal for meeting rooms and huddle spaces.
“It takes a lot of the best DNA from a lot of other product ranges and basically condenses it down to a small footprint box that can be used outside of a rack specifically for huddle spaces and meeting rooms,” Peyton says. “It’s really nice: one SKU, AC and DC combined, however you would need it. Basically it’ll take everything that you would have in a meeting room…through USB, through the other ports and eliminates all those wires and ugly powerblocks you got on the floor. Keeps it all nice and neat.”
The Squid is capable of handling power management and reporting and can be remotely controlled. It also offers support for all the leading network security protocols including 802.1x authentication.
