Derk will also lead the product and marketing strategy for Vantage, the company’s lighting control brand
Legrand’s Shading and Residential Controls business has announced that Charlie Derk, Director of Product Marketing for the company’s QMotion brand, is now also leading the product and marketing strategy for Vantage, Legrand’s luxury residential lighting control brand.
“The health and wellness category is experiencing tremendous interest across both the residential and commercial markets, and human-centric lighting and shading solutions are playing a key role,” said Derk. “Legrand employs some of the brightest product teams in the world, and we are going to leverage the investment that the company has made to reimagine what the next generation of wellness solutions will look like. This will allow our customers to transform the way their end users interact with their homes.”
“Charlie has been leading the product and marketing efforts for QMotion since 2018,” said Amy Hahne, Vice President and General Manager for Legrand’s Shading and Residential Controls business. “By bringing Vantage under his purview, we are able to better serve our customers by focusing on a complete residential lighting control solution that incorporates both natural and artificial sources.”
Derk has 22 years of experience in the luxury residential market, focusing exclusively on lighting control and automated shading products. He was instrumental in developing the HomeWorks platform for Lutron Electronics in the late ’90s and went on to bring wireless control and integrated shading to the family. In 2006, Derk joined the Doherty Design Group, where he collaborated with end users, architects, designers, and builders to design easy-to-use yet sophisticated lighting control and shading systems. Most recently, he helped build the shading product portfolio for Crestron Electronics.
“Combining our luxury lighting and shading brands under one marketing strategy enables us to bring a truly unique experience to our customers and, ultimately, end users,” added Hahne. “I’m excited to have Charlie leading the way.”
