The Right Pizazz

Canadian thanksgiving is a real thing. And because of that, our resident Canadian Matt Scott is out spending time with his family. But he sure picked a week to miss out on, because we’ve got a whole lot of big news coming out of the residential side of the AV industry. So joining Tim is CEO of Southtown AV Heather Sidorowicz, Director of Product at OneVision Resources Jason Griffing, Director of Strategic Partnerships for the Z-Wave Alliance Mitchell Klein and President of Livewire Henry Clifford to talk about the latest stories in AV.

It was announced just last week that Tabatha O’Connor would be stepping down as President and CEO of CEDIA at the end of her contract period in January. O’Connor had spent 18 years at CEDIA, three of those as the CEO. What does this mean for the organization moving forward? Where do we even go from here, to start? Looking at the potential impact of this changeup and the fate of CEDIA through this already interesting year.

On another pivotal side, Regal Cinemas announced that they are shutting down over 500 theaters indefinitely across the US in the wake of COVID-19. This is bound to have long term effects on the movie industry, but what does this mean for the residential side? Will there be a direct correlation between moviegoers looking for a home theater treatment? Discussing the future of cinemas and creating a group experience.
