Pig In A Poke

We are ever so close to that quintessential quincentennial milestone, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. After all, we’re still here to bring you the latest news coming out of the commercial side of the AV industry. Joining us today is the Smooth Factor herself (and Sales Engineer for Access Networks) Alesia Hendley, Technology Sales Director for Tangram Interiors Mark Coxon and Vice President & Co-Steward for Electro Acoustics Luke Jordan.

Last week we talked about how Integrated Systems Europe had iterated it was moving forward in the physical space in person in Barcelona. Well, part of that is still true. ISE is evolving itself into four regional shows across Europe and across the month of June. We sat down with Mike Blackman to discuss what this means for ISE as well as CEDIA and AVIXA, and now we go to our panelists to get their takes on it and what it could mean for the industry as a whole.

Crestron has brought out their 70 Series Scheduling Panels which Microsoft says is the first Teams Panels to be available on the market. What is the significance of embedding these soft codecs into software pieces such as these? Looking at the touch panel market and where it could be headed moving forward in other potential verticals.

Finally, we have a piece from Margot Doauihy writing about the audio advancements made in hybrid learning environments. Many people including those well outside of our industry have learned a lot about remote calls and communication solutions in the past year due to working from home, learning from home and so on. But audio quality is still something that many people are struggling with. How can we bring these concerns to the forefront and educate our clients the importance of good sound?
