CEDIA Expo 2023 is one of the largest trade shows for the AV industry, looking at the latest innovations and technology within the residential space. Tim Albright had a chance to scope out the massive Legrand booth and get a look at the different companies under the Legrand umbrella. We joined Da-Lite Sales Consultant Fred Scurti to look at the developments from their SightLine floating projection screens.
Unlike a traditional blackdrop projection screen, SightLine screens are suspended by sleek cables to preserve the look of the space. When in use, it gives the impression of a floating screen. This has found great success in the commercial space and now in residential.
“Screens are still a thing.” Says Scurti, discussing the growth of projection screens through not only SightLine but their work with Parallax, an ambient light-rejecting technology. “The industry has been trying to predict the ‘death’ of screens, and we keep showing that that’s not happening.”
