Getting The Ball Rolling

A digital signage error shut down McDonald’s stores across different countries. Japan, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand were affected, but some reports stretched out as far as the UK. This was not a cybersecurity attack, but according to McDonald’s themselves, a “third-party provider during a configuration change.” We had a similar conversation already when networks were down a few weeks, ago, but this is a bit of a different beast. Having backups won’t fix this problem. Is there a proper solution to prepare for an outage like this?
According to AVIXA’s own numbers, we are on a healthy growth for the AV industry as get further into 2024. Last year was a rocky stretch, making the start of 2024 just as unsteady. But now we’re back to growth within the sales side despite employment still dropping. We discuss what these numbers mean and how they apply to integrators in the field.
We (as in our editor) don’t want to think about it, but InfoComm 2024 is closer than you think. They are coming back to Vegas, which just happens to have one of the largest AV installations in the world, The MSG Sphere. We may have talked about it a few times on this show. Possibly. AVIXA is hosting an evening at the Sphere as part of InfoComm 2024 on Tuesday, June 11. What else can we expect for the show in June?
