Midwich Ignite, the corporate venture capital arm of the Midwich Group, focuses on high-growth start-ups and scale-ups in emerging AV technologies, smart spaces, hospitality, event technology, and robotics and automation, using the Group’s global connections and expertise over 45 years.
Midwich Ignite has invested in Ciqurix, a UK-based leader in video flame detection technology. This partnership will support Ciqurix in obtaining LPS1976 accreditation for its CORE product, which uses infrared and video analytics to detect fire in difficult environments, making it the only product to meet this new fire standard.
The investment enables Midwich to back an innovative fire safety solution that addresses gaps where traditional detectors fail, aligning with new regulatory standards. It provides Ciqurix with resources and industry connections to expand globally and capitalize on growing demand for advanced fire detection technology.
Midwich Ignite, the corporate venture capital arm of Midwich Group, has announced a strategic investment in Ciqurix, a pioneer of video flame detection technology.
Based in the UK but with customers across the globe, Ciqurix’s solutions are designed to detect fire in challenging environments where traditional heat or smoke detection is ineffective. These include industrial areas, damp or wet environments, extreme temperatures (both high and low), and outside areas such as waste management plants.
Ciqurix CORE, the business’s flagship product, is a revolutionary system that uses infrared and video analytics to detect fire with unprecedented accuracy and range.
Midwich Ignite acted as lead investor in the funding round and will take a seat on the board. The funding will be used to help Ciqurix achieve accreditation under the new fire standard LPS1976, which will make the CORE the only accredited product on the market.
Will Fenby, Investment Manager at Midwich Ignite, said:
