A Symphony of Carnage
The Gears of War series is a longstanding video game franchise, starting development by Epic Games for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 starting in 2006. Since then it has held several titles, comic book adaptions, and even a movie in production. The most recent title, Gears Tactics eschews the traditional third-person shooter gameplay for a turn-based strategy style. The development team Splash Damage had experience with previous Gears titles, but only for the multiplayer component. On this AVNation Special, we sit down with the Composer for Gears Tactics Edward Patrick White and discuss what preparations he went into creating and mixing the music, creating definition through a strong sound library, and more.
