If you weren’t aware, last week there was a major outage for Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp for several hours on Monday. It was later determined that the cause was a “faulty configuration change” and they insist no data was compromised. It’s sometimes hard to imagine in the age of instant access that things will go down, whether they are on site or on the cloud. But since our job is in AV we’re here to either mitigate that damage or have proactive responses to curb such things. What happens when the cloud goes down? How can we make a comfortable migration to the cloud?
LG has launched a curved LED display screen in Times Square showcasing 3D illusions through forced perspective. In the past decade, digital signage has grown exponentially and has permeated throughout all kinds of verticals and businesses. Where do we see signage going? Will it be more “3D” installations like this to Tim’s chagrin? Looking at the future of digital signage for the AV industry.
