A Drink From The Garden Hose

Believe it or not, InfoComm 2021 has happened in person, in Orlando! We as an industry spent the last week learning and chatting with our colleagues, and AVNation in particular has been walking the show floor having guests in our studio to tell us about the latest innovations the AV industry has to offer. And in AVWeek tradition, we gather a whole host of those people to join us for roundtable discussions about their experience at the show and what it means for our industry.

Since we have to come out swinging, we are first joined by AVIXA CEO David Labuskes, Multimedia Services Manager for Johns Hopkins University Erin Maher-Moran and Managing Director for Integrated Systems Europe Mike Blackman. We discuss the long and winding road that led us to Orlando and the experiences that have been taking place on the show floor.

Next we are joined by ATEN Channel Account Manager Tammy Fuqua, FSR’s Director of Global Sales Chaz Porter and newly minted Editor in Chief for Commercial Integrator Dan Ferrisi. We celebrate that new job opportunity before getting into what everyone has been up to for the last week. We get a view of the show from a manufacturer’s perspective, the different feel of this show providing a new experience, and what this means for upcoming shows.

Finally, we have Owner of Control Concepts as well as host of A State of Control Steve Greenblatt, Control System Programmer for Seraph AV & self-appointed “AV Grump” Harry Meade, and Business Development Represeentative & The Smooth Factor herself Alesia Hendley. We look at the show from the perspective of the tech manager and end-user and what they should be taking away from this event.
