AVWeek 602: The Expert’s Expert

If You Help Them, It Will Sell

Unlike the other time that Tim was supposed to be on PTO, he actually is out! But whether we like it or not, the news doesn’t take sick days. That’s why we’re here to cover the latest news and stories surrounding the commercial side of the AV industry. Joining us this week is President of Franklin DJ & Event Services Willie Franklin, Bid Manager for Involve Visual Collaboration Iffat Chaudhry and Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Crimson AV William Bear.

HETMA, or the Higher Education Technology Managers Alliance has announced a formal relationship with AVIXA. The intent is that they will have a full showing of what this means at InfoComm 2023 in June. Regardless of the wording, we discuss what this means for both organizations and how it could provide for the higher education space moving forward.

Legrand is bringing out their Solutions Engineering Team to assist their partners for AV experiences. The team was first established in 2020, and now looks to bring their services to the design process. We discuss what it means to have experts working with the experts in the field.

CDW has acquired Locus Recruiting. CDW is already an IT distributor, and adding this consulting team that specializes in cloud computing, networking and infrastructure will only bolster their ability to assist with IT related challenges. We discuss what this kind of move means for the whole of the industry.
