High Noon, Higher Education

Rejoice, higher ed technology managers! Not for any holiday-related reasons, but that the fall semester is almost over! Even though school might take a break, the news never rests. We’re here to bring you the latest stories connected to the higher education space with a panel of experts. Joining us this month is Rob Rasberry, Ernie Bailey and Scott Tiner.

Sony announced eight Crystal LED showrooms, spread across Europe. These will be showing off the latest generation of their Crystal LED displays. Showrooms are a great way to see a solution in action without having to wait (and/or budget) for a trade show. Could those in higher education find value in them as well?

AVIXA and Microsoft have partnered up to provide free training on Microsoft Teams Rooms. Teams is wildly successful within the corporate and pro AV space, to the point of almost being a monopoly. But in higher education, Zoom is still standing strong. Would this training be useful for higher education? Looking at what this could offer for the higher ed space.

Enterprise Connect 2024 is set for the end of March, and has announced their keynote speakers. Microsoft, Cisco and Zoom are set to have the first words for the show. Unlike an InfoComm or ISE, Enterprise Connect isn’t quite adjacent to the higher education space. Even so, should technology managers be tuned to it? To ruin the suspense, yes! Erin’s actually got her own breakout session at the show! Looking at other potential shows to watch out for.
