Do You Really Need It?
Summer is just getting into full swing, and that means there are plenty of stories to be had about the residential side of the AV industry. Some would say there are more stories to make up for the lack of physical events, and those hypothetical beings would be correct. Joining us today is President of Southtown AV and regular of our show Heather Sidorowicz, Senior Director of Technology and Standards for CEDIA Walt Zerbe, and CEO of josh.ai Alex Capecelatro as we take a dive into the latest stories in AV.
The Consumer Technology Association announced that 2021’s Consumer Electronic Show (Also known as CES) will running in both a physical and digital capacity. The simplest question is, is this still too early? Even before COVID-19 shook the foundations of the trade show floor and turned every show virtual, attendees were susceptible to every Pax Plague, Con Cough or other alliterative affliction that could transpire. Are we ready? Also, will the virtual side be just as good a substitute as the real deal?
CEDIA launches their new website in accordance with their CEDIASTRONG message of empowering, educating and inspiring members through COVID-19. In addition, they also unveiled their new online learning platform CEDIA Academy filled with courses in any stage. Taking a look at the new website and what this means for the industry.
Finally, we look at the challenge of selling 8K solutions to clients when there is just not enough content to go around. Is it too early? Should we even try? What integrators can do for their clients when it come to 8K and cutting edge solutions.
