Stuff In The Closet

You are not living in a simulation, probably. You are however, listening to one of the biggest podcasts to cover the residential side of the AV industry! Again, probably. Today we are joined by Residential Tech Today Executive Editor Jeremy Glowacki and CEO of Josh.ai Alex Capecelatro as we look at what’s going on in AV.

Samsung is throwing their hat (or rather, their projector) into the ultra short throw projection space by unveiling their 4K laser projector called The Premiere. It will be available up to 130 and 120-inch models later this year. Could we see projectors taking the place of displays in the home theater? Looking at where each solution has its place in residential.

Vanco International showcases their EVO-IP LITE av over IP transmitter and receiver offering a cost effective solution for installers. Looking at the value of cost effective HDMI over IP solutions like this as networks and systems get more intricate.

Modus VR announces that it will be showing off their new product called Modus Photo at CEDIA Expo Virtual next week. This is a companion application to the existing Modus VR to create images for dealers and design placement for multiple solutions. We’re always looking at new and innovative ways to show the client how their systems might look, but to be curt.. Is it necessary? Are solutions like this such a deciding factor for specific clients compared to how it’s been done before? Is this a matter of customer complacency, or a sign of generational gaps? Looking at all the factors that come into play and where this software could go for integrators.
