Stand Alone Complex

We have got quite the packed lineup for this episode of ResiWeek. Either something big is going on for the residential side of the AV industry, or our editor’s calendar decided to schedule everyone at once. Most likely the former. Joining us today is Chief Product Officer for SnapAV G Paul Hess, LiveWire CEO Henry Clifford, Chief Content Officer for CE Pro Jason Knott and CEO of Access Networks Bryce Nordstrand.

SnapAV has acquired Access Networks. Full stop. This is one of the many acquisitions that SnapAV has made in the past few years in order to become the one-stop shop for integrators. And it just so happens that we not only have someone from Access Networks today, but SnapAV as well! We talk to our panel to discuss what led SnapAV to make this purchase, and what this means for the industry as a whole moving forward.

ProSource opens their new Lighting Technology Learning Center in Dallas. This showroom displays solutions for- as you might guess- lighting in both interior and landscape settings with full control. Being a residential show, we’ve talked lighting constantly, but there are still integrators who haven’t stepped into the world of lighting design. Can places like this showcase the importance of lighting and what integrator can do with it?

Farberware has introduced a voice-controlled microwave oven. No, come back! This feature is much different than the voice solutions we have discussed in the past. This one has no wi-fi, apps or third party hardware making it one of the most private voice interfaces for a home solution. One of the biggest concerns about voice solutions is privacy. Could this air gap solution be something worth looking into for integrators?

Projector light sources have evolved from 1820s limelight to LED and laser technologies. Traditional lamps provided short-lived illumination, while LED and laser sources offer long lifespans, high color purity, and efficiency. RGB laser projectors offer UHD content color accuracy.
