Riches & Niches
We’ve finally dug ourselves out of the snow pit, which must mean it’s time to look at the residential side of the AV industry. Joining us to delve into this week’s stories are Principal of Fregosa Design Rich Fregosa and Senior Editor for CE Pro Bob Archer.
We start by asking the question Dan Ferrisi also asked in his article on CE Pro- Is it time to reassess the Work From Home and Hybrid Work movement? The pandemic brought forth a wave of technology to allow employees to continue their work remotely, which has caused some observers to note the potential “death” of the traditional office. But is it really going away anytime soon? We discuss the role that the AV industry plays in this conversation and what the future of the office may entail.
The Home Technology Specialists of America have announced Lightapalooza 2022 for February 22-24. It is a three-day event made to educate and provide opportunities for custom integrators and manufacturers. Lighting is something that constantly comes up on this show and in this field, so it’s a little surprising for Matt to ask if this is something integrators should be looking into. But with the amount of trade shows we have, is one entirely dedicated to lighting worth it? We get into a discussion of the lighting space and what it means for electricians and integrators to work together for their clients.
