Red, Green, Blue

Fate itself is conspiring to break our weekly streak of bringing you the latest news for the residential space. Not only did a guest had to drop out to take care of their family, but the bandwidth tried to sever ties with our one remaining guest on multiple occasions. No matter the case, we will still bring you stories from the AV industry! Joining us this week is Executive Director of the PowerHouse Alliance Dennis Holzer.

We start off with an anecdotal tale from one friend of the show Henry Clifford about two different responses to warranty issues. It is inevitable that solutions or products will break down. If this happens in the window of a warranty, things have the chance to get gummy. As integrators, do we need to solve the problem or solve the issues with the warranty? How can we properly explain to the clients the warranties of the devices they are buying and deal with those issues when they arise? Discussing the navigation of warranties for solutions in the home.

Back at the International Builders Show, Savant showed off their low-profile downlights which works within their Cync smart light platform. Since acquiring GE Lighting, Savant has made strides within the smart home lighting space. This collaboration with USAI lighting is to be an entry level lighting solution for the building community. What does it mean for the market and Savant for these lighting solutions?
