Let Me Show You

Whether you’re working or relaxing, we are here to bring you the latest news coming out of the residential side of the AV industry. Joining us this week is Executive Director for the Z-Wave Alliance Mitchell Klein and Jeremy Glowacki who is normally Executive Editor for Residential Tech Today but on this week is a humble vacationer that we are grateful for his time.

The National Asssociation of Broadcasters (also known as NAB) show is coming to Las Vegas at the end of April. The 8K Association has announced they will be demonstrating 8K solutions with demos for the upcoming NAB Show. Their goals are to showcase the power of 8K for filmmakers, the use of live cloud encoding and streaming 8K content in the same manner as the recent Tokyo Olypmics. 8K has been shown around in the AV space, but is it time for it to go mainstream? Discussing the state of 4K and 8K and what it means for the display space.

Next we talk about SoundVision’s new showroom displaying the importance of enterprise-grade network solutions. SoundVision President Mark DiPietro discusses in the article the foundation of a solid network and how it has become one of the most important parts of a household. We discuss the value of showrooms and balancing their services with the online side of your business and what clients can only really experience outside of a streaming window.

Finally, we look at a CE Pro article asking a question: Is Remote and Hybrid Work Destroying Company Culture? A heated title for sure, in news media you have to make those bold statements to get clickthrough. Through a Webex by Cisco study, it seems that inclusion has actually improved according to surveys with the advent of remote and hybrid working. Is “work culture” being destroyed, or is it evolving into something else? Looking at the effects of the hybrid and remote work environment as it continues to stay within businesses.
