Lock Your (Proverbial) Doors
Let’s go over the latest news surrounding the residential AV space with some experts in the field. Joining us this week is AV mastermind Mitchell Klein, CEO of Josh.ai Alex Capecelatro and Vice President of Commercial for Origin Acoustics Joe Whitaker. Google and several other companies have signed a letter offering their support for baseline IoT cybersecurity standards. This is coming off the heels of the FCC’s own look at a Cyber Trust Mark, something to identify security standards being met in consumer solutions. Is a regulatory deal like this good for consumers, or is it something that we as an industry should be more involved in? Now that we are a few months apart from CEDIA Expo and the first-ever Commercial Integrator Expo, we have the data to look at when it comes to the resimercial space. Yes, resimercial is a thing, and Tim wrote about such a statement in an article on our very site. But rather than debate its existence, we ask if there’s a place for it. The aforementioned double-show was a good start, but could we see something like ISE on this side of the world?Host: Tim Albright
