The Executive Chair: John Ivey

Second generation leadership at AtlasIED with John Ivey

John Ivey grew up in a speaker factory. Ivey is the son of AV industry veteran Loyd Ivey. As the son of an icon, John knew what he was going to do when he grew up.The only question was whether or not he could do so with his own style and not screw anything up. This isn’t a story of a spoiled son getting handed the keys to the kingdom. John Ivey has done everything from sweeping the factory floor to driving a speaker truck. Now in his fourth year at the helm, Ivey still sees himself as a speaker salesman.

In his fourth year, Ivey still doesn’t have everything figured out. But he’s getting there. John is a member of the CTA, being chair of the automotive board. There is also the third generation working at AtlasIED. Two of John’s sons are in the business. His goal is simple; hand over the reigns at 65 after being the caretaker for the next twenty years.
